Big Wins for 'Kimberly Akimbo' and 'Leopoldstadt'
The musical "Kimberly Akimbo" and the play "Leopoldstadt" emerged as the big winners of the night, each taking home four awards. "Kimberly Akimbo," a heartwarming story about a teenager with a rare aging disorder, won for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Victoria Clark).
"Leopoldstadt," a historical drama about a Jewish family in Vienna, won for Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play (Michael Gambon), and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Sara Swerdlow).
